Time you do not get back, and the thirteen durations somebody else was winding
Thirteen durations stand round a licensed British account and not one of them is the player’s to wind. Between them they cover every hour of a year, 8,760 of them, while a handset is in a hand for 267 h 40 min of it at the rhythm this site assumes and has never observed. That is 32.7 hours of cover standing behind each hour of attention. Strip the licence and the cover reads nil on any year nothing goes wrong, which is why almost nobody notices it has gone.
A year under cover 8,760 h Cover against attendance 32.7 to 1 Returned on a quiet year Nil

Only the middle reading comes out of arithmetic belonging to this site. The multiple laid against what lands gives the turnover asked for; dividing that by 10p a spin gives the presses; dividing those by 300 an hour gives the hours, a press on a handset being taken here at 12 seconds from the one before. Both figures are assumptions rather than measurements of anybody: nothing was played and nothing was held a stopwatch to. Anybody quicker should divide the press count by a rate of their own, which is why the presses are printed alongside the hours instead of being summarised away.
The first reading is what arrives before any condition is laid against it. Spins carry no unit of their own so one gets supplied: where an operator values its own spin that figure is used and attributed, and where it does not, this site's 10p a spin stands in and everything below moves with it. The third reading belongs to the operator entirely. It is a withdrawal band quoted from published terms, and a blank there means none was published rather than that nobody looked.
The total along the foot answers what the hours leave open, which is whether any of the running ends anywhere. It is what arrived, less whatever is still standing once the play-through has been paid for at 96 per cent return to player and once a published limit, a published deduction and a published floor beneath the least that can leave have each had a turn. It appears again in pence in the pound, the only fair way of holding a small offer up against a large one. It describes an offer rather than an evening, and where the conditions price out what arrived, a timer prints nothing getting out instead of a negative sum.
Cashiers on a handset take deposits off a row of preset buttons, so a least deposit given in pounds is raised to the next rung of the ladder used here, £10, £20, £25, £50, £75 and £100, and the timer shows what is left perched on it. That money is the reader's own and enters no sum at all. Given in euros it prints untouched, the ladder being sterling. Three words may occupy the figure column where no figure belongs. Stated is a published term that costs something while leaving no number to subtract. No figure is a term nobody has quantified, or a credit that is not a sum until money of yours makes it one. Your own is money of yours, which belongs in none of this.
None of the operators above is licensed in Great Britain, so not one duty that licence carries reaches any of them. Membership of Gamstop Online is compulsory for every online gambling company licensed in Great Britain, which means that shutting yourself out through the scheme shuts you out of none of these. The limit of ten times the bonus funds on a wagering requirement, running since 19 January 2026 under Social Responsibility Code 5.1.1, is a condition of the same licence and binds only whoever holds one. Off that licence, the Gambling Commission writes of consumers meeting unfair gaming practices, financial loss and no recourse when matters go wrong, and lists blocked payouts and withdrawal limits pitched too high to reach among the things it has seen. No account at any of them may be held by anybody under 18.
Every term on a timer is its operator's own and every timer carries the day somebody read it. The oldest of those readings is 17 October 2026. What binds a reader is an operator's full terms and never a line printed here.
1
What turns a duration into a clock, and who stays awake for it
Six sections of this site price durations a reader can watch going past: a queue at a cashier, a run of pressing, a window closing, a payment crossing. The seventh prices durations nobody experiences, because their value lies in running unattended, and they turn visible only when one of them proves not to exist.
A duration counts as a clock under this heading when four things hold. Some event sets it running. It carries a stated length, ceiling or floor. Somebody owes a duty to honour that length. And something follows when the length is reached. Delete the third test and what remains is a wish, which is the distinction the whole section rests on.
Eleven workings sit beneath this heading, each taking one duration apart. None can state the shape of the set from inside its own subject, so that is the job here: list every length, record the duty beside it, price the list rather than any item on it.
Somebody reading this will have arrived wanting a route back to something they have shut off. That deserves an answer before any arithmetic starts. This page supplies no such route, publishes no address, calls no registration reachable or missable, and treats a bar set by a bank, a network or a handset exactly as it treats a national one. Part eight says what is available instead.
Six figures hold still throughout: a press worth ten pence, ninety-six pence returned on the pound, forty times over, unity for weighting, twelve seconds of interval, twenty-two minutes to one sitting. The last pair are modelling conventions and nothing in the section was held against a watch. Two more belong to this page alone: two sittings a day, and a year of 365 days.
2
Thirteen durations, with the figure attached and the gap beside it
Here is the whole set in one place. The last column is not a shorter period or a weaker one. It records what occupies the position once the duty is gone, which is sometimes another rulebook, sometimes a design decision, sometimes nothing.
| The duration | Under a British licence | Owed by | What fills the position instead |
|---|---|---|---|
| Every name on a list, read against a national register | Once in each twenty-four hours | The business | No register, and barring settled business by business |
| Identity established in front of a first press | Before all play, credit and prize-free rounds included | The business | A later milestone the account’s builder picked |
| The pause in front of a payment ceiling rising | Twenty-four hours, then a second deliberate act | The business | A period on a form, where one is offered |
| A payment ceiling coming down | At once, short of a technical failure | The business | Whenever somebody reaches the message |
| A prompt to look over one’s own record of play | Six months at most on an account in use | The business | Nothing calls for it, so it waits on the reader |
| Notice of whether money survives the business failing | Six months, the sum restated and acknowledged | The business | No rating to rest on, so no notice falls due |
| Spend and elapsed play, shown while they happen | In real time, from 17 January 2025 | The system | A watch, if anybody remembers to start one |
| The shortest gap from one game cycle to the next | 2.5 s on reels, 5 s on other casino games | The system | Whatever the build does |
| The interval between a press and its result | Not shortenable by any quickening feature | The system | A selling point, where a build has one |
| Confirmation that a complaint has landed | Three working days, one where play never closes | The business | A timetable drafted by the party complained about |
| The wall round a business handling its own complaint | Eight weeks, then an adjudicator off an approved list | The business, then the regulator | A route whose conditions the operator may write |
| The window for raising the matter at all | Not under half a year from the thing complained of | The customer, shortening it forbidden | Whatever a sheet says, policed by nobody |
| The period for pulling a payment request back | Nil, and offering one is prohibited | The system | A design decision, free either way |
Read the second column downward first. Four entries run in months, three in days or hours, three are instantaneous or continuous, two are floors in seconds, and one forbids any period at all. A protection written as a length can be long, short or zero, and the length says nothing about how much work it does.
3
One property every row turns out to have in common
Now read the third column, which is where the finding is. Ten rows put the duty on the business and three on the software it runs. One names the customer, and even there the licensed duty is a prohibition on the other party cutting the window short. No row makes the person being protected responsible for honouring a length.
That is the general result and it needs no arithmetic: every item in the set is a duration somebody else would otherwise have had to attend to. The section’s title names an inheritance rather than hours wasted at a handset. Where the duty goes the work does not vanish, it crosses the table to the only party left standing.
What makes the inheritance a poor one is coverage rather than effort. A duty owed by a business runs through the night, a weekend, the fortnight a reader forgets the account exists. A duty inherited runs only while the reader is awake, holding the handset and thinking about it.
8,492 h 20 min a year in which a kept duration runs and nobody is at the handset
Diligence cannot close that gap, which disposes of the usual rejoinder. Somebody twice as attentive is present for twice as many hours and absent for the remainder, since the quantity being doubled starts at three per cent of the calendar.
4
A year of cover set against the hours anybody is present for
This page takes two sittings a day, as the section on expiry takes them, and the rate is stipulated rather than watched. Two of twenty-two minutes across 365 days gives 730 sittings, 16,060 minutes and 267 h 40 min at a handset, inside a year of 8,760 hours. Attendance is 3.1 per cent of the calendar.
Invert the pair and the ratio falls out. Each hour somebody spends pressing sits inside 32.7 hours in which a duty was live. Nothing in that figure depends on the size of a credit, the multiple over it or the business holding it. It is a property of how little of a week anybody spends on a handset.
| The line | Arrived at by | In one year |
|---|---|---|
| Hours a duty runs through | 365 days of twenty-four hours | 8,760 h |
| Sittings at a handset | Two daily, a rate declared and not observed | 730 |
| Minutes of attention | Twenty-two to a sitting, likewise declared | 16,060 |
| Hours of attention | Those minutes divided by sixty | 267 h 40 min |
| Hours nobody is present for | The first line less the fourth | 8,492 h 20 min |
| Presses made in the year | 110 to a sitting at the assumed interval | 80,300 |
| Expected cost of those presses | Four pence from each staked pound | £321.20 |
A week is the easier unit to argue with, so the picture works in weeks. Fourteen sittings come to 5 h 8 min against 168 hours, leaving 162 h 52 min uncovered. Four sittings daily lifts attendance to 10 h 16 min and drops the remainder to 157 h 44 min. Ten daily, which is nobody, still leaves 142 h 20 min.
Both traces run straight because both are one product read twice. At the right-hand edge the gap has narrowed to 116 h 40 min against 25 h 40 min, bought at five times the handset use and still better than four to one.
5
Eleven pay nothing at all, and the other two pay in slowness
Pricing a set means asking what it returns, and the answer divides by the kind of year somebody has. Take first the year in which an account opens, a clause is worked off or abandoned, money moves or does not, and nobody falls out with anybody. That is most years.
Sorted by what they govern, the thirteen fall into four families, and only one returns anything at all on such a year. Elsewhere the duty was discharged, the length honoured, and the reader received zero, because no event arrived to be measured against it.
| What the family governs | Durations in it | Returned on a year with no argument | Returned on the year there is one |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who is at the door, and whether they are barred from it | 2 | Nothing visible | A door that does not open at all |
| Money, ceilings and what an account tells its holder | 6 | Nothing visible | A figure put in front of somebody early enough to act on |
| How quickly the game may come round again | 2 | A longer evening for identical money | That identical longer evening |
| What follows a disagreement | 3 | Nothing visible | Confirmation, a wall, and an adjudicator the player never pays |
So eleven of the thirteen return a measured nil on an uneventful year, and the feeling that nothing was lost is arithmetically exact. This section does not argue with the feeling. It argues with reading it as evidence, which is the whole of the error.
Now look at the family paying out every year, and notice the currency. A floor under the game cycle and a bar on quickening a result both return more of an evening spent on the same number of presses. Four thousand presses at 2.5 seconds apiece would fill 2 h 47 min, where the identical four thousand at twelve seconds fill 13 h 20 min. The two that pay on a quiet year pay in a unit the reader experiences as a cost.
Which is why the set is so easy to shed. Eleven items are invisible by design and the two visible ones look like obstacles. Any protection whose whole observable effect is to slow somebody down reads as friction, and removing friction is what this corner of the market sells.
6
The whole apparatus on the one occasion anybody wants it
The second kind of year is the one where a balance does not move, a registration should have barred a door, a figure climbed while nobody was prompted to look, or a clause was argued over. Then the set returns everything it has, all 8,760 hours of it, because a length that lapsed at the wrong moment was never there.
Indivisibility is the property worth naming. A duty honoured for 8,759 hours and dropped on the hour it was wanted returns precisely what nought hours would. None of the thirteen pays in proportion to how long it ran, and none can be bought in part, which is unusual among the quantities this site prices.
Set the longest of them against the thing it remedies and the mismatch shows. Ten pounds of credit held to forty times owes £400.00 across the reels, which the assumed interval turns into 13 h 20 min over 4,000 presses, filling 37 sittings and so nineteen days from first press to last. The wall round a licensed business handling its own complaint runs eight weeks, or fifty-six days. An outer clock on putting something right is nearly three times the life of the thing put right, and that is the generous version. Where no duty exists the second figure does not exist either, being set hour by hour by whoever holds the money.
7
Five rebuilt by hand for 5 h 43 min, and eight that cannot be
Inheriting a duty raises a fair question: how much of it can somebody do themselves. Five of the thirteen have a hand-run substitute of roughly the same shape, and pricing those five in minutes is the nearest this page comes to a bill. Every allowance below is stipulated.
| What the reader does instead | How often | Allowed each time | Over the year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Noting when a sitting began and reading it back at the end | Every sitting, 730 | 12 s | 2 h 26 min |
| Adding up a month of payments nothing refused | Monthly, 12 | 4 min | 48 min |
| Pulling one’s own history where no prompt arrives | Twice | 25 min | 50 min |
| Reading a sheet for a rating that is not written in it | Twice | 12 min | 24 min |
| Keeping a copy of the terms against the day of an argument | Each offer taken, 25 | 3 min | 1 h 15 min |
| The five together | Across 365 days | 343 min | 5 h 43 min |
Five hours forty-three minutes is 2.1 per cent of the 267 h 40 min of pressing in the same year. Converted into presses, 343 minutes at the assumed interval comes to 1,715 of them, which would send £171.50 over a reel and leave £6.86 behind. The smallness is not the finding.
The finding is in what those minutes buy. Every row produces a record and not one produces an obligation. A note of when a sitting began binds nobody to end it, a month of payments added up by hand refuses no payment, and a sheet saved to a handset is evidence rather than a remedy. Standing in reproduces the paperwork of a clock and none of its force.
Eight have no hand-run version at all, and the list is not arbitrary. A national register cannot be read by somebody who is not a party to it. An identity check cannot be brought forward by the person being checked. A floor under the game cycle cannot be imposed by pressing more slowly, which only buys a longer evening at an unchanged hourly rate. A deadline for answering a letter cannot be set by whoever wrote it.
8
Durations belonging to somebody who has already decided
Two entries are unlike the rest, because their trigger is not an offer or a payment or an argument but somebody deciding they would rather not. A registration with the national scheme and a ceiling set on an account are instructions a reader issues to their own future self, and the licence stops that future self overruling them in a hurry.
Registration offers four lengths, from half a year up to five years with renewal attached. One will not finish before its own minimum, and does not fall away quietly once that minimum passes. Closing it takes a call to the scheme and a minimum day of cooling off after that, the exclusion live right through. For seven years afterwards the scheme goes on telling businesses the person was registered, a stretch in which nothing obliges them to keep the door shut.
The register held 614,738 people when a count appeared on 16 July 2026, May alone having added 12,236 and the half year 16 per cent, with the five year length taken by better than one in two. Under twenty-fives come to close on a third of the whole, and 38 per cent took six months. That is not a market statistic. It counts people who wanted a clock they could not themselves wind back.
The scheme states its boundary in its terms: it reaches businesses taking part and cannot assist with services run by organisations outside it. Membership rides on a British online licence and has done since March 2020, and from April that year a licensee has had to read its own list of customers against the register daily. A notice the regulator put out on 20 January 2025 states the consequence plainly: websites without a licence often aim at vulnerable people, the example given being somebody who has already registered an exclusion. Its enforcement director wrote on 21 October 2025 that such sites frequently run with no age check, no safer gambling tools and no secure payment.
Nothing on this page assists anybody in undoing any of that. No address is given, no registration is described as reachable, and the refusal reaches just as far to a bar a bank has put on, to a restriction running on a network, and to any part of a document check.
9
Nine duties, each drafted as a length rather than a principle
No Great Britain licence stands over the businesses issuing credit in this corner of the market, and the loss is best stated as nine duties, because every one is drafted as a duration and drops straight into the table in part two. Lengths belong on this page; principles do not.
Two govern money going in. A deposit ceiling may come down immediately, short of a technical failure, and may go up only once twenty-four hours have passed and a second positive step has confirmed it. A light check on financial vulnerability attaches above a net monthly deposit of £500, a threshold live from 30 August 2024 and cut to £150 six months later, from 28 February 2025.
Three govern what an account owes its holder in information. Spend and elapsed play have to be shown in real time, a change dated 17 January 2025 alongside the ban on operator-led play of several products at once. An account used at any point in a rolling twelve months may not go six months without its holder being prompted to look over their own record and transactions, and anybody who declined a limit is prompted to reconsider yearly. Money on a rating recording it as not protected has carried a six-monthly notice since 31 October 2025, naming the sum held and wanting the acknowledgement afresh.
Two govern the pace of the game. A licensed reel game may not come round inside 2.5 seconds, with five seconds standing for casino games outside the slots definition, a figure the Commission’s updates page attaches to 17 January 2025. The system may not let a customer shorten the time until a result appears, which rules out quickening features of every description. Neither has a counterpart in the offshore rulebook read for this network, which carries no ceiling on a stake and no cap on a multiple.
Two govern a customer trying to stop. A product may not nudge anybody into chasing a loss, into a bigger stake, or into going on after saying they wish to finish, with a free game put among the wrong instruments for drawing somebody back. The registration in part eight is the other, and the only duty a reader asks for.
Overstating what is absent elsewhere would be its own error. A complaints timetable is published on the offshore side as well, free to the player, and neither regulator settles an individual transaction. The regulator here has said the unlicensed market is unlikely ever to be taken apart in full, while reporting traffic down 32 per cent across 160 sites it moved against. What differs is not whether rules exist, but whether the durations in part two have anybody obliged to honour them.
One asymmetry runs through all nine. Each is written as a length and enforced against a business, so a reader does nothing to receive it. That is what makes the loss quiet: nobody notices a thing that asked no action of them, and nobody notices its absence until an event arrives that would have set it running.
10
Eleven workings, and which duration each one dismantles
The table settles the general question. Which working settles a particular case depends on which of the thirteen rows a reader is standing in.
Where the question is the register and the barring, a daily reading, and what six months of it holds back comes first, with an adjective about ownership set against the small settings a licence keeps wound beside it. Where it is a disagreement, eight weeks priced against what an argument returns by the hour works that family through, and the other rulebook converted into hours and laid alongside reads the published periods row by row.
Where money is moving, the shape of the payment decides. A transfer with nought hours of reversal behind it covers the last row from the paying side. One checkable hour inside sixty-nine asks which part of a payout anybody can inspect, a charge settled by demand rather than by a published list prices a cost arriving after the decision, and a promise that one number will hold still measures how much of an exposure it reaches.
Where the question is the offer itself, a credit with no payment step in front of it is where this goes furthest, since deleting the payment deletes the last moment at which anybody can decline. An obligation nobody present can size watches the same quantity of work move while somebody walks at it. Where the press matters more than the offer, a stake that is not a fixed number of pence prices an hour of pressing when the unit underneath will not hold.
Where the clock belongs to another section, the four lengths between asking and receiving, the periods deciding whether anything finishes at all and a printed count converted into hours each take over at the boundary. And where the question is how any figure here was arrived at, the assumptions sit together in one place, the two sittings a day among them. Change that rate and part four rescales in one multiplication.
Questions
- What is actually lost when an offer sits outside the British licence?
- Thirteen durations, set out in part two. Among them a whole list of names read against a national register daily, identity established in front of any play, twenty-four hours in front of a payment ceiling rising, six-monthly prompts about an account and where its money sits, 2.5 seconds as the least a reel game may take to come round, and eight weeks round a business handling its own complaint.
- Is there one thing all of those have in common?
- There is, and it is the point of the section. Ten of the thirteen put the duty on the business, three on the software it runs, and the one naming the customer protects a window by forbidding the other party to cut it short. No row makes the person being protected responsible for honouring a length. Losing the licence does not delete that work. It transfers it.
- How much cover is that, measured in hours?
- A year holds 8,760 hours and every one is covered. On the rhythm adopted here, two sittings a day of twenty-two minutes, a reader is at a handset for 267 h 40 min of the year, 3.1 per cent of it. Each attended hour sits inside 32.7 hours in which a duty was live, and 8,492 h 20 min pass with nobody looking. Those sittings are a stipulation, never observed.
- Why does losing all of that feel like losing nothing?
- Because on an ordinary year it is nothing. Eleven of the thirteen return a measured nil where no argument arises, no door needs barring and no ceiling is tested, since a length produces a quantity only when an event lands against it. What the feeling is not is evidence, and reading it as evidence is the single error this section exists to correct.
- Do any of them pay out on a quiet year?
- Two, and they pay in a currency most readers count as a cost. A floor under the game cycle and a bar on quickening a result both return more of an evening spent on the same number of presses. Four thousand presses at 2.5 seconds apiece fill 2 h 47 min, where the identical four thousand at the twelve seconds assumed here fill 13 h 20 min. So the one visible effect of the apparatus is to slow somebody down.
- Can a reader keep these durations themselves?
- Five of the thirteen have a hand-run substitute and eight have none. Noting when a sitting began, adding up a month of payments nothing refused, pulling one’s own history, reading a sheet for a rating that is not in it, and keeping a copy of the terms come to 343 minutes a year, or 5 h 43 min. That is 2.1 per cent of the year’s pressing and 1,715 presses, worth £171.50 of staking and £6.86 of expected cost.
- Which of them cannot be stood in for at all?
- Eight, and the list follows from how each is built. A national register cannot be read by somebody who is not a party to it. An identity check cannot be brought forward by the person being checked. A floor under the game cycle cannot be imposed by pressing more slowly, since that buys a longer evening at an unchanged hourly rate. A deadline for answering a letter cannot be set by whoever wrote the letter.
- Is a complaint route really missing on the offshore side?
- No, and saying so would overstate the case badly. A timetable is published there too, it costs the player nothing, and neither regulator settles an individual transaction. The useful comparison is against the thing complained about. Ten pounds of credit held to forty times runs nineteen days at two sittings a day, while the licensed wall round a business handling its own complaint is fifty-six.
- What does a licence require about somebody who has decided to stop?
- A product may not nudge anybody into chasing a loss, into a bigger stake, or into going on after saying they wish to finish, with a free game put among the wrong instruments for drawing somebody back. Membership of the national scheme rides on a British online licence, a condition since March 2020, and from April that year a licensee has had to read its own customer list against the register daily.
- What if the reason for reading this was to find a route back in?
- Then the number printed at the foot is the thing to use, it is free, and it picks up whatever the hour. Nothing in this section supplies an address, calls a registration reachable, or treats a bank’s own bar, a restriction on a network or a step of a document check as an obstacle. GamCare runs that line and also names a way to get blocking software without paying for it. A registration will not end before its own minimum, which is what it was set to do.
